Stuff like this? One specifically designed for my car would run me like $300 and that’s not worth it at all. If I can just use a bendy pipey thingy and whatnot, though, I'll probably give it a shot.

It’s going to not add power, and depending on where it runs, you could lose power.

I’m no expert, but it seems to me that the corrugations that allow for a flexible pipe will introduce turbulence into the airflow which will slow it down, robbing the engine of power.

That’s what I thought, but I figured I would ask anyway.

Depending on what is wrong I’d go with:

Junk yard intake

Shoe goo repair old intake

Try a universal

the deal is “hey, we can take a 50 cent collapsible PVC drain tube, put a couple of $1.50 anodized-aluminum-look flares on the ends, and sell it for $18!”

just garbage that won’t fit anything without a ton of adapters and/or hacking, and will probably split in a few months.  and I feel sorry for any schmuck who tries to use that on the discharge side of a turbo.

Attach a c one filter directly to the throttle body. That’s all you need.

You can make your own using proper materials for pretty cheap. I once make a shorty intake for my Abarth. I got the intake tube from a diesel repair shop. It was leftover scrap so they sold it to me for $10. I added the fittings myself.

Not sure if I gained power as the filter was pretty small, but it accomplished the task of making awesome turbo noises. Keep in mind that depending  on how your car managers A/F you can screw things up by swapping intakes without a tune.

Why not just make your own using the universal hard pipes/connectors you can get at your local parts stores?

It won’t cost much more than this, you can actually make it legit, and it might actually help performance.

Don’t use the universal intake.  You want nice smooth laminar flow air going through your intake.  The bendy pipe corrugations will make it all nasty and turbulent and actually reduce the amount of air your engine is able to take in.
